Sand Springs Public Schools Launches Anti-Bullying App

SAND SPRINGS, Okla. – Sand Springs is giving its students a new way to speak up about bullying at school. Sand Springs Public Schools launched a new anti-bullying app called “STOPit” on Friday. The free, anonymous reporting app is available for all of the school district’s students and parents. STOPit gives students a safe and simple way to report things such as bullying and threats of violence or self-harm. “Our goal is to keep our students safe and we recognize that not all students feel comfortable reporting an issue,” said Sherry Durkee, superintendent of Sand Springs Public Schools. Students can send screenshots, photos or other anonymous information through the app and it will go to a designated school administrator or staff member to review the concern and determine what the appropriate next steps would be. School officials will share access codes and information about the app with students and parents as they implement the app beginning December 14. To learn more about STOPit, visit Full Story
